Abstract

Livin is a member of the inhibitor apoptosis protein and overexpressed in a variety of Solid tumors and cancer cell lines, but its expression and clinical relevance are unclear. As exon 6 of the gene showed a new NlalII -RFLP, single nucleotide polymorphism, within codon 248 in one Philippine, allele frequencies of NlalII -248 polymorphism were studied in 200 chromosomes from 100 unrelated normal Korean individuals. As a result, only one allele system, the absence of the NlalII 248 site, was detected in Koreans.
